Only about 44.91%[1] of people in France are cremated, so burial remains the local tradition. For exotic pets that often means a small grave in the garden. That's fine for many mammals where rules allow, but think carefully with amphibians and aquatic pets, whose diseases can reach wild frogs and salamanders through water. Cremation is still available, often via a regional crematory.

Ask whoever is caring for your animals to bag your pet securely, note the date on it, and put it in the fridge if you'll be home within a day or two, or the freezer if longer. Have them check the enclosure and your other animals. Aftercare can almost always wait until you're back, so you can choose the provider yourself.
Can someone collect my wallaby or other large exotic in Nantes?
